Celebrate the fall
season at Newkirk Community Garden with live music, pumpkin painting, baked goods, and a coat donation/swap.
The
free outdoor festival will happen on Sunday, October 24th, from 11:00 a.m.
to 3:00 p.m., with a rain date the following Sunday, October 31st.
Live music performances will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with vocalist and pianist Noa Fort, drummer Vinnie Sperrazza, pianist, accordionist, and electric keyboardist JP Schlegelmilch, vocalist and pianist Yoon Sun Choi, and drummer and tabla player Eric Alabaster Music @Saleem_and_Eric.
Masking up is required in the garden because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The garden is in the space that from 2010 to 2018 was occupied by "Compost for Brooklyn." From its website:
