"HONORING OUR BEAUTIFUL PLANET": AN OUTDOOR QUILT SHOW FOR EARTH DAY (FREE)

Earth Day Quilt Fence Show
Saturday, April 24th, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Rain Date: Saturday, May 8th, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Brooklyn Quilters Guild will host a free outdoor quilt show, featuring about fifty quilts made by guild members. The theme is "Honoring Our Beautiful Planet."

Starting at 245 Prospect Park West, the quilts will be hung on the iron fence along Prospect Avenue, Howard Place, and Windsor Place, the streets that surround Holy Name of Jesus Church.

In keeping with Covid-19 safety guidelines, the quilts will be positioned six feet apart.

A representative for the guild explained that the event is strictly a show. But if you see a quilt that you're interested in buying, give your contact information to a guild member there, and they'll pass it along to the quilt maker to see if they're interested in selling their work.

This past October, Brooklyn Quilters Guild hosted its first Quilt Fence Show, featuring forty-nine quilts inspired by Maya Angelou’s quote "Be a Rainbow in Someone’s Cloud." The show drew hundreds of viewers, both in person and online. You can see a video of it on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fF_mE65qD9M.
