The Singing Winds in Albemarle Playground
Saturdays through June 26th, 10:00 a.m. to noon
Last year, because of the pandemic, The Singing Winds in Albemarle Playground presented its free activities virtually. This year, its programming is returning to the playground.
Activities for all ages will be offered from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays through June 26th, including Tai Chi and Qi Gong at 10:30 a.m., gardening, and, during May and June, arts and crafts.
Face coverings are required in order to participate.
Every year, The Singing Winds
presents free arts and crafts, games, science projects, and
storytelling programs. Jill Reinier is the Director of The Singing Winds as well as being the Parent Coordinator at P.S. 230.
The Singing Winds in Albemarle Playground is a City Council District 39 Participatory Budgeting project, made possible with support from the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development in partnership with the New York City Council.

About The Singing Winds
From its website: "Founded in 2011, The Singing Winds offers
multilingual storytelling performances and folk art festivals, featuring
traditional folklore, music, dance and crafts from the cultures of
immigrant residents in Kensington. All Singing Winds programs explore the creative use of public space
to share and celebrate the vibrant cultural diversity of Brooklyn
communities, build relationships among neighbors, and initiate
meaningful dialogue that can transcend language barriers and cultural
divisions."
