Self-Defense and De-escalation Workshop with Pop Gym

Pop Gym will lead a free self-defense and de-escalation workshop at the
Kensington Library on Monday, July 22nd, from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Learn introductory self-defense skills that will keep you feeling safe and
promote a dialogue of understanding.
Learn tips and techniques on how to de-escalate a situation for yourself and for others, meaning how to safely intervene when someone is being harassed.
All ages are welcome to participate in the workshop.
Wear clothing that's comfortable to stretch and sweat in.
Pop Gym offers free workshops in New York City on topics including
self-defense, fitness, safe spaces, body positivity, and more. Pop Gym
believes that everyone should have access to skills that are necessary
for their safety and well-being.
This program is sponsored by Change Agents, a Brooklyn
Public Library initiative modeling empathy, inclusiveness, mutual
respect, and understanding for the benefit of New York City youth.
