INFORMATION SESSIONS ABOUT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL THAT WILL OPEN ON CATON AVENUE (FREE)

M.S. 839 Family Information Sessions
Wednesday, March 4th, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 5th, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

Two information sessions about the middle school being constructed on the Kensington-Windsor Terrace border are open to all District 15 families--parents and children alike. Michael Perlberg, New School Project Director and future Principal for M.S. 839,  will host the sessions. Mr. Perlberg was most recently the Assistant Principal of the Bushwick School for Social Justice.

M.S. 839, the District 15 middle school that is slated to open this September, will be the product of ideas and planning by parents, teachers, community leaders, principals, and students. It will be"a small, personalized learning environment" with 100 students per grade.

Tomorrow's information and school design workshop will be held at P.S. 230. Thursday's will be at P.S. 10. To RSVP for either session, click here up to an hour before the session starts.

Contact Mr. Perlberg here if you have any questions or comments.

All current 5th grade students who attend school or reside in District 15 can apply for admission to M.S. 839. To apply, request a New Middle School Application from your child's elementary school. Select M.S. 839.

The New Middle School Application process is separate from the main Round 1 application. If you receive an offer for your child to attend M.S. 839, you will still get a middle school offer through Round 1. You'll then choose between the two offers.

M.S. 839 is being built at 713 Caton Avenue, between E. 7th and E. 8th streets.
