COOLING CENTER SCHEDULE LENGTHENED

The temperature is staying high. The heat index is staying high. New York City cooling centers are staying open--through this Sunday, July 21st.

Older adults, people who don't have air conditioners, and people with chronic health conditions are at the highest risk of heat-related illness.

Avoid all strenuous activity.

To find the locations of cooling centers and the times that each one is open, fill in the address or intersection on the form that's located at http://maps.nyc.gov/oem/cc/index.htm;jsessionid=3E9DAFDB46AC968985EB3D2F1036A611
. Or call 311.

 Drink a lot of water.

DO NOT leave an animal in a car. Animals can die very quickly in cars on a hot day, whether the windows are slightly open or not.
