Patty Griffin will kick start the Celebrate Brooklyn! summer series with a free concert at the Prospect Park Bandshell on June 5th. Many other excellent musicians will perform during the rest of June, all of July, and part of August, including Wynton Marsalis, Mavis Staples, Big Boi, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Theophilus London, Shaggy, and They Might Be Giants.
The full musical lineup is listed on the BRIC website. For the most part, the concerts are free, with $3 as the suggested price. The concerts that aren't free are The Roots and Jim James, Belle and Sebastian, Robert Plant, Barenaked Ladies and Ben Folds, and Beck. Ticket prices for those are between $41 and $80. Those concerts subsidize the free ones.
