LOCAL DOGGIES IN PUPPY BOWL

Puppies from Sean Casey Animal Rescue will go paw-to-paw with other furry little girls and boys when they compete tomorrow in Puppy Bowl IX. They'll be getting encouragement from hedgehog cheerleaders. Kittens will provide the half-time entertainment; we can pretty much guarantee no wardrobe malfunctions and no lip-syncing.

Puppy Bowl is a free-for-all posing as football and starring the cutest puppies ever seen (between 10 and 15 weeks old) and the chew toys they love. A puppy scores a touchdown by crossing the goal line with a toy. PetFinder.com chooses the players. The game debuted eight years ago in 2005.

The fun will be on Animal Planet from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and it'll be repeated continuously until 3:00 a.m. In the meantime, watch the live Puppy Cam.

All but four of the puppies have found furever homes. One is in a rescue upstate (Rochester, New York), and three are in a rescue in Wisconsin.
