WALK FOR MENTAL WELLNESS WITH GIRL SCOUT TROOP 2267

Update from the troop, May 23rd:
  • The troop distributed nearly 100 informational brochures that they'd made, explaining mental wellness in clear language, and providing helpline numbers, tips, and encouragement.
  • The girls also distributed vials of mood-enhancing lavender and citrus aromatherapy that they made.
  • And we blasted through our fundraising goal -- delivering nearly $2,200 to NAMI.
--------------------------

Walk for Mental Wellness
Saturday, May 18th, 2:30 p.m.

Girl Scout Troop 2267 will host a walk for mental wellness on Saturday, May 18th, at 2:30 p.m. The troop is raising funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness while raising awareness about youth mental wellness.

Meet up with the scouts at The Church of the Holy Apostles, 612 Greenwood Avenue, between Prospect Avenue and E. 7th Street. The three-mile walk will take place along Prospect Park and throughout the neighborhood.

The troop will share information and resources along the way.

From Girl Scout Troop 2267:
We think this topic is important because:
  • We all know someone who struggles from mental wellness issues
  • Mental health challenges in kids our age have increased since the pandemic and are made even worse by social media
  • We want people of all ages to know that they are not alone and that there are resources available to help.

Please support our cause! Thank you!

From Girl Scout Troop 2267
Have you got kids' books you don't need? Come on down to the Windsor Terrace Library on Saturday, December 3 from 1 to 5 p.m. for Girl Scout Troop 2267's book drive! (We'll have a booth set up on the sidewalk outside.)

We're collecting books for the Brooklyn Book Bodega (www.brooklynbookbodega.org), an organization that gives books to families who don’t have enough in order to improve kids’ reading so they can learn and succeed.
  • Books we accept: New & gently used fiction or non-fiction for kids 0-18; foreign and dual language
  • Please no: Textbooks or encyclopedias, dictionaries, religious books, damaged books
