Community Weekend of Action

Freedom Friday is a weekly community grassroots action at the intersection of Church Avenue and Ocean Parkway in Kensington. The goal of Freedom Friday is to keep America free and share hope. 

 

This week's Freedom Friday action is in support of the Hands Off NYC Community Weekend of Action, the goal being to protect neighbors by resisting federal and military intervention (the National Guard and ICE/U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) in New York City's neighborhoods.

From Freedom Friday:

Join us to pass out whistle kits, zines, hold signs, dance in the crosswalk and show the drivers and passersby on Ocean Parkway that resistance is normal, accessible, and joyful!

Meet up with other community residents on the northeast corner at 5:30 p.m. and stay as long as you like. Bring signs, if you have any or can make any.

FREEDOM FRIDAY is a weekly community action to keep America free and share hope. Julie Peppito brings signs every week, so you can just show up, but you are also welcome to bring your own signs. 

Time: 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.  (stay as long as you like)

Location: the intersection of Ocean Parkway & Church Ave. in Kensington, Brooklyn. We meet on the NE corner to begin with but then stand on both corners and in the median. 

Who: Everyone is welcome!
