The Buzz-A-Rama coupon from Groupon has to be purchased by midnight tomorrow (Tuesday, April 3rd) and used by June 17, 2012. The coupon can't be used on Sunday, April 8th.

Only 1 coupon per person can be purchased, but 2 additional coupons can be purchased as gifts. A limit of 1 coupon can be used per visit. The coupon is valid only for the option purchased (for two people or for four people).

This is a vestige of a bygone era where people raced slot cars around a track by pulling a trigger. It sounds so easy, but there are these moments of drama coming around a turn where if you go too fast the car will fly off the track. It's a great experience — singular and sweet.

View the delights of slot car racing in a 2009 video interview with Frank "Buzz" Perri, owner and operator of Buzz-A-Rama on Church Avenue near Dahill Road since 1965.

Buzz is the last man standing in the world of slot car racing in Brooklyn. A New York Times article, "Brooklyn’s Buzz-a-Rama Is Heaven for Slot-Car Fans," describes the game: "Slot cars, which drivers control with a hand-held throttle, go fast—some upward of 100 miles per hour—but getting them to that point demands slow, intensive, hands-on labor. Enthusiasts spend their free time taking the cars apart, tinkering with the motors, shaving down the tires for better balance and adjusting the gears."
