Open to the public, the free event supports local artisans selling handcrafted items for holiday gifting.

Highlights include: 
• Free Crafts & Activities from Brooklyn Game Lab, Barking Cat Art Studio, and others
•Chili/Hot Soup Cook Off with Local Celebrity Judges 
•Summer Camp Auction
• Photos with Santa & Elsa
•Scholastic Book Fair 
•Performances from PS 130 Students & Parents 
BROOKLYN, NY – The P.S. 130 PTA is excited to announce that it will be hosting its annual Winter Bazaar from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at its Upper School, located at 713 Caton Avenue, between E. 7th and E. 8th streets, on the Windsor Terrace/Kensington border.

The highly-anticipated event is open to the public, supports our local artisans, and provides a place for communal gathering. From jewelry to home decor, paper goods to beauty products, families and neighbors will be able to shop local for unique gifts while enjoying a festive, inclusive atmosphere. 
Free Crafts, Games, & More
Highlights include free crafts and games, live music performances by P.S. 130 students and parents, a hot soup/chili cook-off judged by local celebs, a Scholastic book sale that benefits the school, photos with Santa and Frozen’s Elsa, a summer camp auction, and more! 
Winter Auction
Our Winter Auction gives parents the chance to snag some deals on summer camps, recess camps, and goods and services from local businesses! Bid from Monday December 2 through Saturday December 7 at 2:45pm https://tinyurl.com/s9qakoy. Bids are tax deductible! 

Chili and Soup Cook Off
Put on your chef hat and bring a pot of homemade chili or soup for a chance to win bragging rights in the annual chili/hot soup cook off. This year’s celebrity judging panel is made up of 44th District Assembly Member Robert Carroll; Oliver Rivera, partner at popular Windsor Terrace restaurant Cena; and Ms. Maria Nunziata, our school’s beloved principal. The winner will take home a very special P.S. 130 Best Chili trophy.

Cook off entries will be available for sale, as well holiday baked goods and treats.

Proceeds from the event support the PTA at P.S. 130, a diverse, Title I school community serving over 800 students in the Brooklyn neighborhoods of Kensington and Windsor Terrace.

WINE TASTING AND ART MAKING FOR ADULTS


Wine Tasting and Art Making for Adults
Wednesday, May 17th, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Taste and food pair French wines and create a Piet Mondrian-inspired wall clock at Barking Cat Studio's next wine tasting and art making event for adults.

Join Wine Ambassador Liz Howng and artist Karen Merbaum for a fun evening of art and wine this Wednesday, May 17th, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Light snacks will be provided at the tasting. You're also welcome to bring your own, if that suits you better.

For the next Mom's Night Out Wine Tasting & ArtMaking event, taste six new delicious wines, enjoy a light pairing, and make a set of "groovy psychedelic alcohol ink tile coasters."

SIP WHILE YOU PAINT, MOMS


                 Mom's Night Out! Wine Tasting & Art Making Class
                   Tuesday, February 28th, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Taste some California wines and hand-paint your own wine glass at the next "Mom's Night Out! Wine Tasting & Art Making" class.

Spend a few hours unwinding with other moms, learn the art of hand-painting a beautiful wine glass, and taste California wines from the Boisset Collection, presented by Wine Ambassador Liz Howng.

Light snacks will be provided at the tasting, but feel free to bring your own if you want to or need to.

The event will happen at Barking Cat Studio on Tuesday, February 28th, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

WINE TASTING AND ART MAKING FOR MOMS


Wine Tasting and Art Making Class
Tuesday, February 7th, 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Barking Cat Studio is introducing Tuesday night art classes for adults. The first Art for Adults Art Class is a"Mom’s Night Out Wine Tasting and Wine Charm Making Art Class."

Make beautiful wine glass charms while you enjoy a tasting of California wines from the Boissett Collection, presented by Boissett Wine Ambassador Liz Howng. A wine glass charm is fastened around the stem of a wine glass in order to distinguish one person's glass from everyone else's.


This first class will meet on Tuesday, February 7th, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

Light snacks will be provided at the tasting. You're also welcome to bring your own snacks.

EVENT SCHEDULE FOR HARVEST HOOTENANNY




Annual Harvest Hootenanny (The Hoot) 
Sunday, October 25th, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The lineup for Sunday's Harvest Hootenanny has been announced:

  • All day: Barking Cat Crafts (free)
  • All day: Kingsbay Y Crafts And Archery (free)
  • 11 until there are no pumpkins left: Pumpkin Painting ($5)
  • 11:30 to 12:30: Giggling Ghosts and Silly Songs, with Robin Bady; for toddlers, in the tot lot 
  • 12 to 2: Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos ($5) 
  • 3:15: Halloween Parade, with prizes for Scariest, Sassiest, Best Homemade, Best Superhero, Most Creative, and Cutest. 

Music and Dance

Raffle Prizes: Raffle tickets cost $2 per ticket or $10 for 6 tickets.

Admission to The Hoot is free, and it's open to the public. A donation of $5 per family is suggested.

Greenwood Playground is located on E. 5th Street, between Fort Hamilton Parkway and Greenwood Avenue. It's near the Fort Hamilton Parkway subway station for the F and G trains.

PAINTING FACES AND PUMPKINS



Harvest Hootenanny
Sunday, October 19th, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The annual HOOT (Harvest Hootenanny) in Greenwood Playground will offer a dazzling array of dance performances by Cynthia King Dance Studio, spooky storytelling, arts and crafts with Barking Cat Studio, a Halloween parade, glitter tattoos, face painting, pumpkin painting, balloon twisting by Mike Gold the Ballooniac, raffle prizes, and more.

A $5 donation is suggested and would be appreciated. The money will be used for future programs from Friends of Greenwood Playground.

Canned food and other non-perishable items can be brought to the Hoot to be donated to The Food Bank for New York City. 

Friends of Greenwood Playground would love to have help with putting the Hoot together. These parents donate their time and energy to making Kensington and Windsor Terrace even better neighborhoods for families to live. Anyone who can help out can e-mail them at greenwoodplayground @ gmail.com.
