BIKE DAY IN PROSPECT PARK: A COMMUNITY DAY OF CYCLING (FREE)

 
Bike Day in Prospect Park
Saturday, May 30th
11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
 
May is National Bicycle Safety Month; on the next-to-the-last day of the month, "Bike Day in Prospect Park" will be held.
 
The free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, May 30th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. It will begin at the 15th Street/Prospect Park West entrance to the park, rain or shine.
 

Featured activities will include 
  • a giveaway of professionally-fitted helmets (first come, first served), 
  • a children’s bike swap (your child's old bike for a newly-tuned-up bike), 
  • bike infrastructure information, 
  • Cyclist protocol and safety conversations, 
  • free minor bike repairs, 
  • New York City bike maps,
  • Delivery worker support and protocol,
  • Children’s bike-related projects,
  • Guided beginner rides (for adults) (Registration required), and
  • a Children’s Learn-to-Ride workshop (Registration required).

Sponsoring the event are Park Slope Civic Council, Prospect Park Alliance, Bike New York, the New York City Department of Transportation, and New York City Councilmember Shahana Hanif.
