Join Big Reuse educator(s) for an introduction to composting. Learn about composting programs and get a primer on various forms of small scale composting that you can do at home or with your neighbors at a community scale.Please bring any questions you may have about composting at home or participating in NYC’s free composting services.

That same afternoon, from noon to 4:00 p.m., kitchen containers will be given away.
Curbside composting service begins in Brooklyn on Oct 2nd! Learn helpful tips and best practices from a DSNY representative for using your building's brown bin and pick up your free Kitchen Containers and paper lawn & leaf bags.Kitchen Containers are small bins to keep the food scraps in your kitchen separate from your trash and other recyclables. These containers allow you to easily store your food waste before putting it into your brown bin.
