NEW COMMUNITY FRIDGE IN WINDSOR TERRACE

Community fridges and purple pantries are tools in the struggle for food justice and against food insecurity and an opportunity for neighbors to help neighbors.

Kensington/Windsor Terrace Mutual Aid (KWTMA) set up a community fridge today near the northeast corner of E. 2nd Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway, by the laundromat. There you can donate perishable foods, such as dairy products, meat, eggs, home-cooked meals, fresh fruit, and fresh vegetables, or you can take food that you need.

[Update: The purple pantry is on E. 4th Street, just south of Fort Hamilton Parkway.] In the near future, KWTMA will set up a purple pantry by Jaya Yoga East, located at the corner of Fort Hamilton Parkway and E. 4th Street, for non-perishables, such as canned and packaged foods.
