Food Service Establishment Advisory Board; Opiate Overdoses

Chef Vincent Tropepe will speak about the Food Service Establishment Advisory Board at the next meeting of Community Board 7's Health and Mental Health Committee.
The City Council passed Local Law 91 in September 2013, creating an advisory board to assist the commissioner of the Department of Health and Mental Health
"concerning matters related to the food service establishment sanitary inspection program and its effect on the restaurant industry, food safety and public health."Also on the committee's agenda is a discussion on preventing opiate overdoses. The National Institutes of Health defines "opiates" as "heroin, morphine, codeine, Oxycontin, Dilaudid, methadone, and others."
