PROBLEMS WITH RACCOONS, SQUIRRELS, OPOSSUMS, AND PIGEONS

Workshop on How to Resolve Common Urban Wildlife Problems: 
Effective and Humane Solutions for NYC Residents
Saturday, January 22nd, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

This free interactive workshop on effective and humane solutions to problems with raccoons, squirrels, opossums, pigeons, or other urban wildlife will be led by a wildlife expert from The Humane Society of the United States. The workshop will focus on practical, effective, and long-term solutions to common urban wildlife problems.

The event is sponsored by the office of City Councilmember Brad Lander, Windsor Terrace Alliance, and The Humane Society of the United States.

AGENDA SET FOR WINDSOR TERRACE ALLIANCE MEETING

 Windsor Terrace Alliance Meeting
Thursday, November 11th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Agenda:
  • Meet Brooklyn Borough President (and Windsor Terrace resident) Marty Markowitz
  • Update from the 72nd Precinct
  • Ideas needed for possible street improvements to Prospect Avenue and to the intersection of McDonald Avenue/Fort Hamilton Parkway/Caton Avenue
  • New business: bring your concerns or questions
Brooklyn Commune, the food shop/cafe that will be opening soon at 601 Greenwood Avenue at the corner of Prospect Avenue, will provide snacks.

If your organization has any upcoming community or free events or services, you can bring materials to put on the information table. 

Location: Bishop Ford High School cafeteria, 500 19th Street. Enter the building through the main entrance, between 10th Avenue and Prospect Park West.

NEXT WINDSOR TERRACE ALLIANCE MEETING

Windsor Terrace Alliance Meeting
Thursday, November 11th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

 Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz will be at the next meeting of the Windsor Terrace Alliance. The meeting will be held in the cafeteria of Bishop Ford High School at 500 19th Street. The entrance to the school is on 19th Street, between Prospect Park West and 10th Avenue.

Snacks will be provided by Brooklyn Commune, the food shop/cafe that will be opening soon at 601 Greenwood Avenue at Prospect Avenue.

WINDSOR TERRACE ALLIANCE MEETING AND YMCA TOUR

Windsor Terrace Alliance Meeting
and Tour of The Armory YMCA

The next Windsor Terrace Alliance meeting will be held tonight.

At 5:45 p.m., prior to the meeting, please join the tour of The Armory YMCA sports facility.

AGENDA
  • Prospect Park Alliance update on Vanderbilt Playground
  • Windsor Farm community gardening/composting project
  • "No Menus" signs (A limited number of "No Menus" signs will be available. More signs will be available over the coming weeks.)
  • New dog run on 18th Street
  • New business – bring your concerns
Light refreshments will be provided.

Children are welcome. An area will be set aside with toys and games. Parents must supervise their children.
