TASTY TERIYAKI

tasty tofu teriyaki

When I heard two years ago that a Japanese restaurant was going to open on Church Avenue, I was uninterested. I ended up eating there quite a bit anyway because that's where my friends kept wanting to go for lunch or dinner. Now it's among my favorite restaurants.

It isn't just the main courses that are so delicious, it's also the soup, the dressing on the salad, and the vegetables that accompany the entree. Every course is worth savoring.

Sake Sushi got its liquor license on Friday. Lucrezia Wise writes "Though right now all they have in stock is sake and sapporo beer, they will be getting wine in as well eventually." Read more on the Yahoo! Contributor Network.

CHILD-FRIENDLY SAKE SUSHI

Yesterday evening, a friend, her two-year-old son, and I ate at Sake Sushi. Our attentive waitress brought the little guy a high chair, ice water in a styrofoam cup instead of a glass, a plastic fork and spoon instead of metal ones, and a set of chopsticks that were customized for a child.

My friend had Hibachi Chicken, the little boy had Tatsuta Age, and I had Chicken Katsu. We shared our food with each other, and it was all delicious.

SAKE SUSHI JAPANESE CUISINE OPENS ON CHURCH AVENUE

Sake Japanese Cuisine had its grand opening on Friday, February 11th. Gilly Nadel writes*
I was one part excited and two parts skeptical about the new sushi restaurant, called Sake. Today is their grand opening -- they're offering 10% off all day -- and I tried them for lunch. It was great! The sushi was very fresh and very tasty, and the teriyaki was scrumptious. The $8.50 lunch box was a steal, with soup, salad, sushi roll, entree, veggies, rice and shumai. Now I'm just plain excited.
