ART PORTFOLIO SUMMER CAMPS (NYC ART HIGH SCHOOLS)

From Julie Peppito, Peppito Art Workshop:

Portfolio Summer Camps!  (NYC Art High Schools)

Peppito Art Workshop (PAW),  Portfolio Summer Art Camp registration is open.

The majority of my students have gotten into the top NYC art high schools:

LaGuardia, Murrow, Art and design, Sinatra, Brooklyn High School of the Arts, etc…

I have been teaching art in the neighborhood for many years, and I have decades of experience as an artist. I received my BFA from The Cooper Union and my MFA from Alfred University.

My art has been on the cover of The New York Times, on the grounds of The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, and at The Old Stone House, The Sugarhill Museum, and many other venues around New York City and the nation.

🦋 🌼🌸  This summer I am offering two camps that each focus on two of the four required pieces for NYC Art High School portfolios.

They begin with an introduction to observational drawing, the primary skill needed for most of the required pieces. The goal is to focus on the fundamentals of observational drawing for a day each week, spend two full days on each required piece, and have fun doing it!

*To work on all four pieces, sign up for both sessions.

Programs are held in my Kensington, Brooklyn, studio.

July 20 - 24 :

Still Life, Fantastical Sandwich (+ Drawing 101)

July 27 - 31:

Self Portrait, Figure Drawing (+ Drawing 101)

In all of my programs I work with artists where they’re at. And if artists are speeding through their pieces or really seem to need a break from my studio, we may go to the Brooklyn Museum for a day to draw and break up the week.

We also usually go out for ice cream and/or other treats during the day, and there will be time to loosen up with some ping pong or other games.

*Please note that artists may not end up with completed pieces. I will help them get as far as possible without putting them under unnecessary pressure.
