CANCELED: MUSIC CONCERTS ON PORCHES

From Operation Gig!

Friday, Sep 22 6–8PM
The Max Johnson 3 play Operation Gig
131 Buckingham Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11226

“New York bassist Max Johnson has established himself as one of the more versatile figures in jazz and improvised music, a leader with a strong, woody tone who shows himself capable whether playing tunes with a swinging drive or exploring abstract terrain with a texture-oriented approach.” (Peter Margasak, The Chicago Reader)

Renowned composer/bassist Max Johnson presents his jazz trio with close collaborators Neta Raanan (tenor saxophone) and Jeff Davis (drumset) for an evening of brand new compositions.

Coming from the tradition of creating unorthodox ways to weave through time, like composers Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus, or Wayne Shorter, this trio values positive energy and exploration, creating music with an infectious forward propulsion and joy.

Neta Raanan – Tenor Saxophone, Max Johnson – Bass, Jeff Davis - Drums

The Saturday concert has been canceled because of rain.

Saturday, Sep 23 4-6PM
The Moonchildren/Fundraiser for OG
225 Argyle Rd, Brooklyn, NY

The Moonchildren will bring their theatrical alt-folk-piano rock and soaring harmonies to the porch!

All proceeds of this concert will go the Operation Gig Musician Guarantee Fund, which ensures we can pay musicians a dignified wage when donations don't suffice.

Donations will be matched by super-neighbors Mike & Christina Gantcher and The Jan Rosenberg and Erika Sackin Team at Douglas Elliman.
