Breast Cancer Information Session
Tuesday, August 22nd
11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Brooklyn Community Board 7 (CB 7),
in partnership with Maimonides Medical Center, will host a breast
cancer awareness information session this month.
The presentation will be given in English. Spanish translation will be available.
Dr. Joshua Feinberg, Director of Research, Breast Surgery, Breast Cancer, and Surgical Oncology at the Maimonides Breast Center, will lead the discussion about early detection and diagnosis, support for the patient during treatment and beyond, and how to support a loved one.
Information about making an appointment for a free mammogram
will be shared with attendees. Even though a monthly breast self-exam is valuable, not all breast cancers can be detected through a self-exam--so also get a mammogram done annually. "Early detection is the best prevention" and offers the best chance of cure.
Giveaways and light refreshments will be available at the event.
The session will take place on Tuesday, August 22nd, from 11:30
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at CB 7's office.
