PACKAGE THIEF ARRESTED IN WINDSOR TERRACE

P.O. Dan McGrath of the 72nd Precinct has arrested the red-scooter-riding thief who has been stealing packages from residents' front porches.

The thief had been recorded on a security camera on November 27th while stealing packages from two homes. The camera belongs to a neighbor of the victims, who live on E. 3rd Street, between Greenwood Avenue and Vanderbilt Street.

Officer McGrath was named Police Officer of the Year in October. He can add this arrest to his list of successes.

Question: How can USPS, FedEx, UPS, or any other delivery service consider a package "delivered" when they don't give it to the addressee, to someone else in the home, or to a neighbor?

Mail has to be put inside a mailbox, not left lying on a porch or on a lobby floor. Packages should be put someplace safe too.

FedEx was quoted in an article as saying that handing packages to someone would make each delivery take longer. Then hire more employees so people can get properly-delivered packages!
