Public litter baskets for street corners can be requested from the Department of Sanitation either online or by calling 311.
The online form asks where you want a litter basket placed and why. The choices for "why" are bus stop, high pedestrian traffic, school, subway, commercial area, and other.
You can make the request anonymously or include your name, phone number, and e-mail address.
