Guest speaker CPA Jeffrey Gilfix will give this group of 135 local small business owners and entrepreneurs some tips on handling taxes. Because it's that time of year again.

Small business owners and entrepreneurs who live in or work in this neighborhood are welcome to attend this combination business education event and share useful information and ideas during the informal networking session.

SMALL BUSINESS NETWORKING GROUP MEETS TONIGHT

Prospect Park South Networking Group meeting

Tonight, Tuesday, September 16th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

A representative from the New York City Department of Small Business Services will speak to local small business owners tonight about its classes and the various forms of assistance it can provide to small businesses.

Formed in March, the Prospect Park South Networking Group meets once a month at Lark Cafe, 1007 Church Avenue, between E. 10th Street and Stratford Road.

Time is set aside for open networking among its members. New members are always welcome.

Members of the group are from Ditmas Park, Kensington, Windsor Terrace, and Midwood and are self-employed, work from home, or own local small businesses.

Self-employed local folks: meet each other, exchange information, share hits and misses, strategize, and be encouraging in a newly-formed networking group for residents of Windsor Terrace, Kensington, Midwood, and Ditmas Park.

If you are

• an owner of a small bricks-and-mortar business ,
• an owner of a microbusiness,
• a sole proprietor,
• an independent contractor,
• a freelancer,
• a service provider who works at home or is "headquartered" at home,
• a service provider who rents a small office space to work in, or
• any other kind of self-employed person,

this group is for you.

The first meet-up is just two weeks away. Ideas for discussions at future meet-ups will be welcome. Bring your business card with you to distribute.

Lark Cafe will be offering a happy hour drink special with $5 beer and $6 wine for people participating in the meet-up.
