PURIM CELEBRATIONS THIS WEEKEND


Chabad of Windsor Terrace

Saturday, March 11th
Maariv, 7:00 p.m.
Megillah Reading, 7:15 p.m.

Sunday, March 12th
Megillah Reading, 4:00 p.m.
followed by the 8th Annual Purim Bash 

On Saturday, March 11th, Maariv begins at 7:00 p.m., and the Megillah Reading begins at 7:15 p.m.

On Sunday, March 12th, the Megillah Reading begins at 4:00 p.m. After that, Chabad of Windsor Terrace invites everyone to eat, drink, and celebrate with a DJ, hamentash bar, Purim buffet, and open L'chaim's bar, all free. 

Wear a costume.

Party, 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Featuring music, games for all ages, great food, and the Purim shpiel led by Rabbi Lev Meirowitz Nelson.

The cost is $5 per adult, with children admitted free.

                          Kings Bay Y at Windsor Terrace

Sunday, March 12th
              Annual Purim Family Festival, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Celebrate Purim, the most festive Jewish holiday of the year. Show off your best costume. Make your own hamentachen cookies. Create "mishloach manot" goodie bags for your friends and family. Other highlights include face-painting and mask-making.

The featured special musical guest is Tkiya: The Jewish Community Music School.

Admission is free. The festival is open to the whole community. Adults and children are welcome.

Hinterlands Bar

 Sunday, March 12th, 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Purim Party

Hinterlands Bar will kick off its Purim party with a potluck at 6 p.m. Bring any dish you want. Carnival games will be played in the back room (or in the backyard, weather permitting) to raise money for Make the Road NY.

Wear a costume because at 9:00 p.m., a costume contest will be held.


Hinterlands is a bar, so the party is only for ages 21 and over.

Everyone is welcome to join in.

MENORAH LIGHTING OUTDOORS IN WINDSOR TERRACE


Community Menorah Lighting
Thursday, December 29th, 3:30 p.m.


The annual community menorah lighting sponsored by Chabad of Windsor Terrace is scheduled for tomorrow--Thursday, December 29th--at 3:30 p.m.

Have some hot latkes as you listen to live music. Entertainment and gifts for the children will round out the fun.

The event will take place in the parking lot of Key Food/Walgreens at 589 Prospect Avenue, near 11th Avenue, in Windsor Terrace.

Observe the Jewish high holidays at Windsor Terrace Chabad's user-friendly interactive services. Services are suitable for all levels, regardless of previous religious experience. Commentary, insights, and explanations will be in English.
A $50 donation is requested to reserve a seat. Donate via PayPal. Other ways to reserve a seat are to send an e-mail to wtchabad @ gmail.com or call (646) 298-9909. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

"LUNCH 'N LEARN": JEWISH STUDIES AT HUMMUS GARDEN

Lunch 'n Learn:
Exploring the Daily Prayers and Prayer-book
Wednesdays, 12:30 p.m.

A brand-new weekly series from Chabad of Windsor Terrace will explore the Talmud, Kabbalah, and Hasidism in the comfortable environment of Hummus Garden, the new kosher vegetarian Mediterranean restaurant on Fort Hamilton Parkway.

Chabad writes "Join us as we draw from the wisdom of Talmudic sages, the Kabbalah and Chassidic Masters, deriving pertinent lessons for life's daily challenges."

Everyone is welcome to become a part of this learning experience, regardless of prior knowledge or background.

The suggested donation per discussion is $5.00.

PURIM BASH AT CHABAD OF WINDSOR TERRACE

Annual Purim Bash at Chabad of Windsor Terrace
Saturday, February 23rd, 7:00 p.m.

Eat, drink, and celebrate. Try every flavor of Hamentash. Enjoy a lavish Purim buffet. Partake of all-you-can-drink l'chaim's (the standard Hebrew and Yiddish drinking toast, generally translated as "To life").

The Megillah reading will be at 7:00 p.m. sharp, followed by the celebration.

Special children’s entertainment.

Admission is free.
