LEAF DROPOFF AT THE EAST FOURTH STREET COMMUNITY GARDEN

Drop off your fallen leaves at the East Fourth Street Community Garden during its annual Fall Leaf Drive from October 19th through November 20th. Bring them to the garden on Wednesdays, between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and on Saturdays, between 10:00 a.m. and noon.

Just bring leaves--not garden trimmings, branches, roots, or litter. The gardeners will use the leaves to compost the food scraps that neighbors donate to them. Leaves are valuable "browns" (carbon-rich material) that balance the food scraps in their compost bins.

The East Fourth Street Community Garden is part of the New York City Parks Department's GreenThumb, the largest community garden program in the United States.
