On the F subway line, work on the signal modernization project continues to take place every
weekend, weather permitting, through December 21, 2020, with the exception of the weekends of October 9th-12th, 16th-19th, and 23rd-26th and the weekend of November 27th-30th (Thanksgiving).
Work will resume on January 8, 2021, and continue
every weekend through August 2021, with the exception of Passover,
Easter, and the July 4th weekends.
F trains run between 179th Street and Church Avenue. They do not run between Church Avenue and Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.
Customers traveling
between Church Avenue and Coney Island can use D, N, and Q trains and local buses to complete their trip. Free shuttle buses are not available.
Work begins on Fridays at 9:45 p.m. and ends at 1:00 a.m. Then, from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., the subway system is closed to clean and disinfect the trains and the stations. Stations reopen on Mondays at 5:00 a.m.
