Sad to say, Brooklyn Commune is closing after almost eight years of not just serving delicious food but also being of public service to the local community and beyond. The final weekend will be the weekend of April 20th.
Co-owners Chris Scott and Eugenie Woo will replace it with Sumner's Luncheonette in May. The retro diner will serve old-school classics with an Amish Soul Food twist. It will be open for lunch and brunch.
Chris and Eugenie write
"We'll still be around, and we'll continue to run the space. It will be something better, tastier, and filled with community.
We'll be having a farewell party in a few days celebrating its history and what it's meant to us. We'll also be announcing what we'll be doing with the space. Stay Tuned!!"
Check their Facebook page for updates.
Their other restaurant, Butterfunk Kitchen, will not be affected by the closing of Brooklyn Commune.
