UPDATE: On both Thursday, January 4th, and Friday, January 5th, alternate side of the street parking regulations will be suspended.
-----------------------------
A Snow Alert is in effect as of 6:00 tonight. Three to six inches of snow is likely overnight, with higher amounts possible. Consequently, alternate side of the street parking regulations will be suspended tomorrow (Thursday, January 4th) to facilitate snow removal by the Department of Sanitation (DSNY).
All other regulations, including parking meter regulations, will be in effect. Those are only suspended on major legal holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Go to PlowNYC at maps.nyc.gov/snow or http://www1.nyc.gov/site/severeweather/index.page to determine the priority designation of any street (critical routes, sector routes, and haulster routes) and about how long it's been since a DSNY salt spreader or snow plow was on that street.
Garbage and recycling collection might be delayed or suspended, depending on how much snow we get. Check the DSNY website tomorrow or call 311 for up-to-date information.
