Christmas trees placed at the curb between Monday, December 30th, and Wednesday, January 15th, will be picked up for free by the Sanitation Department. The trees will be ground into wood chips, mixed with leaves, and recycled into mulch that will be used in city parks, playing fields, and community gardens.
Before putting the tree at the curb, remove the tree stand and all tinsel, lights,
and other ornaments that are on it. Don't put the tree into a plastic bag. Trees that have decorations on them and/or are in bags will be collected, but only undecorated, unbagged trees will be recycled.
