"MUSLIMS IN BROOKLYN" - KENSINGTON NEIGHBORHOOD LISTENING PARTY

"Muslims in Brooklyn" - Kensington Neighborhood Listening Party
                     Monday, March 18th, 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

                                 (doors open at 3:30 p.m.)

From the Brooklyn Historical Society, organizer of "Muslims in Brooklyn" - Kensington Neighborhood Listening Party:

Join us in Kensington for a free oral history listening party.
For well over a century, Muslims have lived, worked, and prayed in Brooklyn, making it a major center of Muslim life for NYC and the nation. Led by Brooklyn Historical Society Oral Historian and Project Director Zaheer Ali and Project Coordinator Liz Strong, "Muslims in Brooklyn" preserves and celebrates histories of Muslims from all across the Borough.
Come hear stories from the Muslims in Brooklyn oral history collection that bring this history to life. The evening’s program will be engaging and interactive, so please come ready to listen, reflect, and join the discussion.
Register here. Your registration helps us to gauge attendance for this program, but please note that it does not guarantee seating. Seating at this program will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
The doors will open at 3:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 4:00 p.m.
This event is hosted by The Brooklyn Public Library Culture Pass Community Programs.

The Muslims in Brooklyn project is made possible through the generous support of the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art’s Building Bridges Program, the Ford Foundation, The New York Community Trust, the Nissan Foundation, the Pillars Fund, Pop Culture Collaborative, and New York City Council Members Robert E. Cornegy, Jr. and Brad Lander.

Brooklyn Historical Society public programs are made possible by the New York State Council of the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature; and, in part, by public funds from the New York Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
