FREE TRAINING IN TREATING OPIOID OVERDOSES

Free Naloxone (Narcan) Training for Treating Opioid Overdoses
Thursday, February 13th, 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Naloxone is used to rapidly reverse and block the effects of opioid overdoses in emergency situations. Because overdoses are so frequent, it's possible that you'll unexpectedly encounter someone who has overdosed on an opioid. After being trained in the use of this nasal spray, you may be able to save a life.

The medication is able to quickly restore normal breathing in people whose breathing has slowed down or has stopped due to an overdose of heroin or prescription opioid pain medication.

Free training in the use of Naloxone (brand name: Narcan) will take place on Thursday, February 13th, 6:00 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at Pakistani-American Youth Society. The training is open to all. Everyone there will receive a free Narcan kit.

It's been legal to carry Naloxone in New York State since 2006.

After the Naloxone training, if you're interested in a presentation about bail reform, you're welcome to stay for it.
