HURRICANE IRMA DONATION DRIVE

Victims of Hurricane Irma in Puerto Rico have an immediate need for clothing, diapers, toiletries, and food. Occupy Kensington is helping El Grito de Sunset Park collect essential items for these people. The electrical power outage that hit Puerto Rico could last for up to six  months.

These items are needed:

  • new packs of socks, underwear, and T-shirts (no used items),
  • diapers,
  • toiletries (including bandages and gauze, shampoo, toilet paper, sponges, and hand sanitizer), and
  • nonperishable, ready-to-eat food, such as granola bars and crackers.

Leave donated items on the stoop of 309 E. 5th Street, between Church Avenue and Albemarle Road. Occupy Kensington members will deliver them to El Grito de Sunset Park's collection point on Monday afternoon and on a regular basis after that, as needed.
