WANTED FOR ATTEMPTED RAPE IN PROSPECT PARK ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 20TH
The man pictured on the Wanted poster and the surveillance camera is being sought by police for attempting to rape a jogger at knifepoint in Prospect Park. The crime occurred near the Prospect Park West entrance at Garfield Place on Wednesday, April 20th, at 5:10 a.m.
The perpetrator approached the 23-year-old victim, who was alone, from behind and threw her to the ground. She fought back and so did he. After the attack, the victim was in Methodist Hospital in stable condition with a laceration on one of her fingers that required stitches. She has been released from the hospital.
The perpetrator is a black male, 5'10" tall, weighing 180 to 290 pounds. He has short hair and a goatee, and he was wearing a black t-shirt, black pants with white lettering on one pant leg, and black sneakers with white bottoms.
