OLDER MAN NAMED AS SUSPECT IN ATTACKS ON OLDER WOMEN
The NYPD is searching for 64-year-old Clarence Jones as a suspect in several armed robberies and assaults. The victims are women who range in age from their 70s to the 90s as well as a 43-year-old man. The perpetrator either hit, choked, or pistol-whipped them and robbed them on all but one occasion.
The attacker was armed at various times with a gun, a knife, and a box-cutter.
The attack in our neighborhood occurred on Ocean Parkway near Beverley Road on Saturday, March 26th. It happened in the daytime, just like the other crimes.
Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said "Jones has 19 prior arrests and spent 14 years in prison for the exact same crime."
The suspect is dark-skinned, has gray hair, is 5'8" tall, and weighs about 202 pounds.
Whoever has information that might help the NYPD can call NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at (800) 577-TIPS, or submit a tip through the Crime Stoppers website, or text a tip to CRIMES (274637) and then entering TIP577. All calls are kept confidential.
