Public Forum for Verizon FiOS Accountability
Tuesday, November 17th, 7:00 p.m.
Common Cause/NY, Consumers Union, and Borough President Eric Adams are co-sponsoring a FiOS public forum on Tuesday, November 17th, at 7:00 p.m. at Brooklyn Borough Hall.
The borough president would like to hear from Brooklyn residents about their experiences with
obtaining, trying to obtain, or waiting to obtain Verizon FiOS and explore any impediments to obtaining that
service.
In 2008, Verizon signed a franchise agreement to provide FiOS availability to every residence in the city by mid-2014. Although 2014 has already come and gone, a recent audit by the city, confirmed by the personal experiences of residents, contends that Verizon is not fulfilling its obligations under the agreement.
