Compost for Brooklyn will be closed this Thursday, the day after Christmas. It's normally open every Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Compost that's acceptable is residential food scraps, not including dairy, meat, bones, woody material, lawn clippings, coconut shells, or "compostable" dinnerware.
