ADD YOUR REQUESTS AT TONIGHT'S PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING FOR COMMUNITY DISTRICT 12

Public Hearing on Community Board 12's
Budget Requests and Priorities for Fiscal Year 2015
Monday, September 9th, 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

General Board Meeting
7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.


Unless everything in Kensington is perfect...tell Community Board 12 tonight what you want included in the annual budget for the community district.

Tonight is the public hearing on the district's Fiscal Year 2015 budget. One part of the budget is requests for the capital budget and the other part is requests for its expense budget.

Board members and the public can comment on the requests as well as change, remove, or add other requests. The 2015 fiscal year begins on July 1, 2014.

Below are the capital budget requests and priorities, followed by the expense budget requests and priorities.

CAPITAL BUDGET REQUESTS AND PRIORITIES
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015

1.  DEMOLISH AND RECONSTRUCT A NEW 66TH PRECINCT STATION HOUSE ON THE FOOTPRINTS OF THE PRESENT SITE.

2.  BUILD A SOUND BARRIER IN BACK OF ANNEX LOT WHICH WILL BE USED AS PARKING LOT FOR BK 12 SANITATION TRUCKS DAILY SCHOOL PICKUPS FOR PRIVATE SCHOOLS

3.  CONSTRUCT NEW SEWER LINES ON 11TH AVENUE FROM 50TH TO 60TH STREETS AND ON 14TH AVENUE FROM 45TH STREET TO 55TH STREET

 4.  REMOVE BOCCI COURT AT BRIZZI PARK AND MAKE THIS PARK A COMFORT STATION PARK/MAINTENANCE AREA

5.  ENLARGE BRIZZI PARK TO EXTEND TO THE GREEN STREET TRIANGLE LOCATED ON 42ND STREET BETWEEN 10TH AVENUE AND NEW UTRECHT AVENUE.

6.  CONSTRUCT PUBLIC RESTROOMS IN PLAYGROUND OF COL, MARCUS PARK – EAST 5TH STREET.

7.  REDESIGN AND RECONSTRUCT 13TH AVENUE FROM 37TH STREET TO 60TH STREET

8.  FUND THE TOTAL REFURBISHING OF DOME PARK.. THE PARK IS AT 38TH STREET AND 15TH AVENUE

9.  [Hopefully, the board is including signals in Kensington in this request.] IMPROVE TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON OCEAN PARKWAY AND ENHANCE THEM ON THE MAIN AND SERVICE ROADS.

10.  THE RESTROOMS IN GRAVESEND PARK NEED MAJOR RENOVATIONS.

11.  PURCHASE TWO NEW MECHANCIAL [SIC] SWEEPERS FOR BK12 SANITATION

12.  FRIENDS FIELD BALLFIELD RETAINS WATER, NEW IRRIGATION AND DRAINAGE SYSTEM IS NEEDED.  FIELD NEEDS TO BE REDONE IN SYNETHIC [SIC] TURF OR NEW GRASS

13.  [This request is for Kensington.] THE KENSINGTON AREA IS DEVOID OF ANY TYPE OF GREENSTREETS.  FUNDING IS NEEDED TO MAKE GREENSTREETS IN THE KENSINGTON AREA.

14.  MAINTAIN WATER MAINS THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT AND UPGRADE THEM WHEN NECESSARY.

15.  [This request is for Kensington.] REMOVE METAL TROLLEY TRACKS FROM CHURCH AVENUE AND MCDONLOD [SIC; MCDONALD] AVENUE.


EXPENSE BUDGET REQUESTS AND PRIORITIES
FOR FISCAL YEAR 2015

1. INCREASE COMMUNITY BOARD BUDGETS

2.  FUND DAILY SCHOOL PICKUPS FOR PRIVATE SCHOOLS

3. [Hopefully, the board is including signs for Kensington in this request.] 
‘STOP HERE ON RED” SIGNS SHOULD BE PLACED BEFORE EACH INTERSECTION ALONG OCEAN PARKWAY SO THAT CARS DO NOT GET STUCK ADJACENT TO THE MALL WHICH PREVENTS CARS AND SCHOOL BUSES FROM TURNING AT THE SERVICE ROAD. 

4.[Hopefully, the board is including baskets in Kensington in this request.] LITTER BASKET SERVICE PICKUP FOR THE 12AM TO 8 AM SHIFT 7 DAYS A WEEK IS NEEDED.  BASKETS ARE OVERFLOWING ON ALL COMMERCIAL STRIPS

5.  MOTORIZED LITTER PSTROL [SIC; PATROL] (MLP) BY SANITATION IS NEEDED 12AM TO 8AM SHIFT – FOR DUMPING CONDITIONS AS WELL AS OVER FLOWING BASKETS

8.  INCREASE SANITATION WORK FORCE

9.  [Hopefully, the board is including the malls in Kensington in this request.]   INCREASE USE OF PARKS ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL (PEP) IN PARKS AS WELL AS FOR OCEAN PARKWAY MALLS

10.  INSTITUTE REGULAR CATCH BASIN CLEANING

11.  INCREASE THE NUMBER OF WORKERS FOR TREE PRUNING, STUMP REMOVAL AND MAINTENANCE OF PARKS

11.  PROVIDE ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL TO REPLACE MISSING TRAFFIC SIGNS
