PROSPECT AVE. WALGREENS ISN'T SAFETY CONSCIOUS

Unshoveled sidewalks. All photos courtesy of Dan Segelin.

A message to Walgreens, the leaseholder at 289 Prospect Avenue, former site of Key Food:
"Whether you're the owner, tenant, occupant or the person in charge of any lot or building, you must clear the snow and/or ice from your sidewalk within four (4) hours after the snow has stopped falling, or by 11 a.m. if the snow stopped falling after 9 p.m. the night before. Failure to comply with the law may result in fines ranging from $100 to $350." -- Department of Sanitation New York City
Clearing snow from a sidewalk reduces the odds of your neighbors slipping, falling, and getting injured and reduces your chances of getting sued. Next time we have snow, don't violate the law or this aspect of being a good neighbor.
