The 66th Precinct Community Council will hold its monthly meeting tomorrow, Thursday, January 17th, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at 5910 13th Avenue, near 59th Street, easily accessible via the B16 bus. The precinct invites you to "come meet Deputy Inspector Michael Deddo, the Commanding
Officer of the 66 Precinct [who will] update the community on the latest crimes in our
community, and what is being done about it. There is also an opportunity to
bring any crime issues you may have to their attention. You can also find out
about the many different programs available that may be of interest to
you."
This is an opportunity for residents to bring crime issues to his attention and also to ask him why information useful to residents about individual crimes isn't made public, such as the date and time of the crime, the street it occurred on and the cross-streets, and how the crime was committed ( grabbed the victim's purse from behind, followed the victim from the subway, entered a home through an unlocked window, etc.). Other precincts release information to the public and so did the previous commanding officer of this precinct, Inspector John Sprague.
The meeting is free and open to the public.
