SAVE A LIFE WHILE YOU SWAP CLOTHING

Clothing Swap, Blood Drive, and Bone Marrow Registry
Saturday, November 17th, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

P.S. 139's Parent Association will juggle three events on Saturday: the annual clothing swap, a blood drive, and bone marrow registration.

The clothing swap will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. People bring clothing to the clothing swap that they no longer want, and they leave with clothing donated by others. This year, it'll be different in that people will be asked to take away only one bag of clothing. All of the leftover clothing will be donated to people who are in need because of Hurricane Sandy--or a monetary donation will be made.

New York Blood Center's blood drive and the National Marrow Donor Program's Be the Match bone marrow registration will both be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Lots of blood is needed because the supply has run so low; the Blood Center wasn't able to collect for a while because of the hurricane.

To donate blood, sign up online at https://drm.nybloodcenter.org/PublicScheduler/GroupWelcome.aspx?Group=62425. Or send an e-mail to Diana at dkfrombk @ yahoo.com.

If you can't participate in the blood drive that day but would like to be a blood donor another day, call the New York Blood Center at (800) 933-2566.

To determine your medical eligibility for donating blood, call the Blood Center at (800) 688-0900.
