MOTHER AND YOUNG CHILD SEPARATED AND REUNITED IN SUBWAY
A woman was holding the hands of her seven-year-old and five-year-old sons as the three started to board the G train at the 15th Street-Prospect Park station. The doors of the car began closing--with the mother's arm between them. To prevent having her arm crushed, she pulled it back out. Liam, the seven-year-old, was alone on the train as it traveled toward Fort Hamilton Parkway. Unable to get help from the conductor, she ran to the station clerk's booth. With the help of the station clerk, a rider, the police, and a dispatcher, the family--Lisa Rice and sons Liam and Gavin--was reunited at Church Avenue after almost an hour.
