TWO GREENMARKETS IN WINDSOR TERRACE

Windsor Terrace residents are about to get a second greenmarket.

The "Windsor Terrace-PS 154 Greenmarket"--the new greenmarket on 11th Avenue between Sherman Street and Windsor Place that we wrote about last month--has been approved by the appropriate city agencies and will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays from July 8th through November 18th.

The greenmarket will accept food scraps that will be turned into compost from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sundays from July 8th through November 18th. A list of foods and what to collect and store them in is on the GrowNYC website. To list just a few: fruit and vegetable scraps, rice, tea bags, and eggshells.

It also will accept rechargeable batteries.

EBT and Food Stamps are acceptable payment.
