CHANGE OF DATE FOR FILMING AND FOR NOT PARKING

From the Locations Department of "Boardwalk Empire":

PLEASE NOTE OUR SCHEDULE HAS CHANGED AND
WE WILL NOT BE HOLDING PARKING ON SUNDAY APRIL 15th,
OUR NEW SCHEDULE WILL BE TO HOLD PARKING ON TUESDAY APRIL 17th, 2012.

Dear Residents and Merchants,

We are currently filming scenes for Boardwalk Empire's upcoming 3rd season.  From Terence Winter, Emmy Award-winning writer of 'The Sopranos,' and Academy Award Winning Director Martin Scorsese, 'Boardwalk Empire' is set in Atlantic City at the dawn of Prohibition, when the sale of alcohol became illegal throughout the United States.  The HBO TV series stars Steve Buscemi, Kelly Macdonald, and Michael Shannon.

NEW SCHEDULE - On WEDNESDAY APRIL 18th, 2012
we will be filming interior scenes in your neighborhood from approx. 8am-11pm
In order to facilitate filming, we will need to hold parking for our production vehicles
beginning on TUESDAY APRIL 17th, 2012.

The streets affected will be:
  • East 5th St. btw Church Ave. and Albemarle Rd., Both Sides
  • East 5th St. btw Beverley St. and Church Ave., ½ block East Side closer to Church Ave.
  • Church Ave. btw Ocean Pkwy and East 3rd St., Both Sides
  • Albemarle Rd. btw Ocean Pkwy and East 5th St., South Side

*(Please note once all the equipment is parked if any parking is unused we will immediately release it back to the public)

In order to alleviate holding parking spaces many days in advance of filming, we will follow the city program of utilizing the Vehicle Tow Unit (VTU) of the NYPD.  We will post signs during the street cleaning.  Please read these signs carefully.  They delineate when tow trucks will arrive to relocate cars that remain.  There is no cost or penalty to owners of relocated cars.  In the event that your car is relocated, contact one of the Parking Assistants or your local precinct.  They will tell you where your car can be found.  We urge you to pay attention to the signs to avoid any inconvenience.  This is the same program that is used for parades and other public events throughout the city. We urge you to pay attention to the signs to avoid any inconvenience.

TOW TRUCKS WILL ARRIVE ON TUESDAY APRIL 17th, 2012 @ 10pm

If you have particular concerns (scheduled deliveries, moving, construction, accessibility needs, etc.) that must be addressed, please call the Locations Department at 917/671-5250 or see a member of the Locations Department on set.  Please know that we are working in close cooperation with the Mayor’s Office of Film Theater and Broadcasting and the NYPD Film and Television Unit. We look forward to filming in your neighborhood, and will do what we can to minimize the impact of our presence on the street and the surrounding area.   Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

Sincerely,
The Locations Department
