The Draft Riots and Gangs of New York Walking Tour
Sunday, September 25th, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Many of the participants in New York City's Draft Riots in 1863 are buried in Green-Wood Cemetery. Guide Ruth Edebohls will tell the stories of Horace Greeley, Henry J. Raymond, Boss Tweed, the Brooks Brothers, abolitionist Abigail Hopper Gibbons, and others. The film "Gangs of New York" included many of them as characters.

The walk may be hilly and strenuous, so wear a good pair of walking shoes. 

Fee: $10 for members of The Green-Wood Historic Fund; $15 for non-members.

Take the “R” train to 25th Street in Brooklyn and walk up the hill one block and into the cemetery.

Free parking is available.
