MEDICAL EMERGENCIES AT SEAN CASEY ANIMAL RESCUE

"Both eyes had ruptured. There were just remnants left and there was nothing that could be done to save them," Casey said.

The Daily News reports on the extraordinary number of emergency cases being handled by Sean Casey Animal Rescue. "While it's typical for the Sean Casey Animal Shelter to get two or three emergency medical rescue cases a month, seven have hobbled in seeking life-or-death treatment." The badly injured animals that came under the rescue's care last week include dogs, cats, and a turtle.

"Our regular vet bills are already tens of thousands of dollars a month," Casey said. "So when you add in another $7,000 to $10,000 in emergency surgeries in a week, it's crippling for us."

Needless to say, the rescue is grateful for any and all donations made in person, by mail, and through PayPal to help them through this crisis.

Sean Casey Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) Not-for-Profit No-Kill Shelter.

And, by the way, the staff and volunteers at Sean Casey Animal Rescue are among the most kind-hearted people you'll ever meet, and they're devoted to every creature that comes across their doorstep.
