GARBAGE COLLECTION BEHIND SCHEDULE

The Sanitation Department resumed garbage collection yesterday, but they're behind schedule: a Kensington resident with a Monday pick-up day reports that the garbage on her block didn't get collected until today (Tuesday) at 11:00 a.m.

Fewer trucks are available for garbage collection than usual and crews are working fewer hours. Many department employees are still clearing snow and melting it down.

For the time being, only garbage and Christmas trees are being collected. The Sanitation Department will announce when recycling collection will begin again.
