In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment, the annual Blessing of the Pets will take place on his Feast Day in front of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on Saturday, October 2nd, at 1:30 p.m.

All walkers, swimmers, crawlers, and climbers are invited to be blessed. 

 

Keep your pets secure and safe by putting them on a leash or in a carrier before bringing them to the church.

Clothing Donation

Sunday, October 24th, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Donate new and gently-used clothing to the Saint Vincent de Paul Society by bringing it to the society's truck on Sunday, October 24th, between 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., when it will be parked in front of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (IHM).

Donations of new and gently-used clothing and shoes for women, men, and children are welcome. Used clothing and shoes must be clean and must be in wearable condition. Stained, ripped, worn-out clothes won't be accepted. 

 

Clothing can only be donated on that day and between those hours. Anything brought to IHM before Sunday at 8:30 a.m. will be discarded because of a lack of storage space.

Albemarle Neighborhood Association (ANA) is the oldest neighborhood association in Brooklyn. Since its founding in 1973, it has worked to advance Kensington's quality of life. Mums, pumpkins, books, clothing, toys, housewares, and knickknacks--they'll all be for sale at the East Fourth Street Community Garden's Fall Flea Market on Saturday, October 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The event is in support of the garden. 

 

The garden is open to the public from April through October on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and Wednesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Ten visitors at a time can be accommodated, due to COVID-19 safety precautions.

She is 79 years old, Asian, and female, is 4'11" tall, weights 94 pounds, and has salt-and-pepper-hair and brown eyes. 

 

The red shirt with dark brown stripes that she’s wearing in the photo is the shirt that she was wearing when she was last seen. She was also wearing black-and-white pants and red and burgundy sneakers. She was carrying a green reusable bag and a large burgundy bag containing empty water bottles.

72ND PRECINCT COMMUNITY COUNCIL WILL MEET WITH RESIDENTS THIS MONTH

 

72nd Precinct Community Council Public Meeting

Tuesday, September 14th, 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 pm.

 

The 72nd Precinct Community Council, Commanding Officer Captain Ernesto Castro, and other officers from the precinct will meet with the public in person on Tuesday September 14th, from 7:30 p.m. to 8: 30 p.m.This will be the Community Council's first in-person meeting of the year.

 

All attendees are required to wear a face mask. 

 

Everyone who lives or works in Windsor Terrace, Greenwood Heights, South Slope, and Sunset Park is invited to the meeting to discuss past crimes and what the precinct is doing to prevent future crimes. Learn what types of crime have been taking place, their frequency, why they happen, and how to prevent them.

The public is invited to voice its concerns about criminal activity: armed robberies, rape and other forms of sexual assaults, home break-ins, burglaries in local stores, bank robberies, drivers who are speeding or breaking other laws, stolen bicycles, package theft, and any other crimes.

HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE FAIR ON FORT HAMILTON PARKWAY

Holiday Boutique Fair

Saturday, November 6th, and Sunday, November 7th, 

10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

 

An indoor and outdoor Holiday Boutique Fair will be held at Brooklyn Prospect Charter School from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 6th, and Sunday, November 7th.

Vendors at Immaculate Heart of Mary's (IHM) fair will sell art, confections, candies, crafts, clothing, handmade items, jewelry, and other goods.

IHM is looking for vendors who would like to sell their wares at the fair. The cost of a booth is $75 for one day ($50 if you pay before October 6th) or $125 for both days ($100 if you pay before October 6th. Each vendor's booth measures 10x10 and includes one table. Any vendor who wants to set up a spot outside can bring additional tables or tents.

 

Each vendor is required to donate a $25 item that will be raffled off. Only one vendor per category will be allowed.
