PASTRY SHOP OPENING ON CHURCH AVE.
Handcrafted European pastries prepared by chefs and co-owners Björn Böttcher and Greg Barbiero will soon be served at Der Pioneer in Kensington, most likely in December. The chefs will be using locally sourced ingredients.
Chef Böttcher came to the U.S. from Hamburg, Germany; he trained in Europe. He was the pastry chef at Shea Gallante’s Ciano; at The Lambs Club, he was the Master Baker and Executive Pastry Chef.
Der Pioneer will have a backyard seating area.
The hours for the shop have not yet been announced.
