LAND USE PROPOSALS FOR 36TH AND 38TH STREETS ARE ON THE AGENDA

Zoning Variance Committee Public Hearing
Wednesday, June 15th, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

At a Public Hearing to be held by Community Board 12's Zoning Variance Committee, four properties will be discussed. One property is in Kensington on 36th Street, and one is near Kensington on 38th Street. The other two are deeper into Borough Park.

At 7:30 p.m., the applicant will present a plan for the property at 1128 36th Street, between Fort Hamilton Parkway and Minna Street: to build a six-story mixed community facility and commercial building by the Sleep Inn hotel. The applicant is requesting two special permits.

The next and final agenda item is 1147 38th Street, between Fort Hamilton Parkway and 12th Avenue. This applicant seeks an amendment of the previously-approved variance and a plan, approved in 2010 and amended in 2011, for lot 52. The proposal seeks to approve a modified but substantially similar Group 3 school at the premises.
